NACSW® National Association of Canine Scent Work™

The original birth of nose work that set the standard for future organizations to create similar programs. In this organization you will master the odors of Birch, Anise and Clove and are required to pass an ORT (odor recognition test) on all 3 odors before you can participate in a trial. At the trial level you will participate in the elements of Containers, Exterior, Interior and Vehicles in the same day and currently must pass all 4 searches to earn a title specific to the that level.

They also offer individual Element Titles. The rules will be changing for the upcoming year and you will be able to earn legs towards a title.  You and your dog must both be registered with NACSW® in order to enter a trial. Details on how to register and information regarding the rules specific to NACSW® (current and upcoming) and title levels can be found here!

More Organizations

At the AKC, we know that a well-trained dog is a joy to own. AKC classes provide a starting point for a lifetime of training and learning with your dog.

United Kennel Club (UKC) is an international dog registry celebrating bonds, rewarding ability, and preserving the value of a pedigree.

In C-WAGS you will find the most relaxed atmosphere of nose work. The odors are also Birch, Anise, Clove and Cypress but there are no distinct elements in this organization. It is a great venue to get your feet wet and test what you have learned.
